Antifungal drug Diflucan

The active substance of Diflucan – is Fluconazole – that has the property to effectively inhibit the synthesis of sterols in the cells of fungi. The effectiveness of diflucan against yeasts and yeasty fungi, molds, dimorphic forms is proved. The diflucan rapidly absorbed from the digestive system, reaching a highest concentration after 0.5-1.5 hours after ingestion, food intake does not affect the absorption of Diflucan, a semideducing is about 26-30 hours (so it can be applied once a day). Fluconazole penetrates well into the fluid and tissues of the body, its concentration in the cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, bronchial secretion is almost the same as in blood plasma, and in the stratum corneum drug accumulates in doses exceeding the concentration in the blood.
Diflucan does not form active metabolites excreted by the kidneys in practically unchanged form.
The daily dose of fluconazole depends on the character and severity of fungal infection.
